Doof Vlaanderen - The Warmest Gesture
For many of the over 500,000 deaf and hard of hearing people in Flanders, lip reading and seeing facial expressions are crucial to communicating with their surroundings. This is already not easy, but during Covid-19 mouth masks were also literally in the way.
With the “Warmest Gesture” we encouraged all of Flanders to roll up their sleeves and learn a bit of sign language. In order to do this in a pleasant way, we chose to work with compliments. Because let’s face it, who doesn’t like a compliment?
